Update Service
'Bayside Playgroup Updates' is a FREE Premium
Email Service to inform you of news, events, changes, and
resources
at Bayside Playgroup in Manly West.
We keep you up to speed about additional resources -- mostly
available online -- that you can use to extend your programming
for children in your care.
Bayside Playgroup weekly programs are based on
our attentive observation of each child's unique interests and
emerging aptitudes in playgroup -- their 'play stories.'
By providing you with continuous updates about the rationale and
resources for our children's Bayside Playgroup experiences, we
aim to support your own
quality of care and programming for each individual child.

Supervision should be “at arms length” in this busy and
potentially dangerous setting.

interests, events,
or conversations that may arise. All Weekly Updates are
examples of children's interest-based learning.

Box Race Cars
Find a cardboard box large enough to fit around child’s
waist. Cut the top and bottom out and allow children to step
inside. This will be the body of the race car which can be
decorated with name, license plate, steering wheel etc.
Cut two pieces of rope long enough to act like braces over
child’s shoulders. Punch two holes in each side of box and
attach the rope braces. The race care is now ready to take
off ...
I feel refreshed and
excited about the next 10 weeks of Playgroup, in
the remaining weeks of 2008.
After attending Emergent
Curriculum Training I have decided to
include the 'children's own interests' learning approach to
our Playgroup Sessions.
To achieve this goal I will
need to work cooperatively with carers and parents to make
play personally meaningful to every child.
Our Bayside Playgroup Updates
Service -- on this website -- is an ideal tool to send any
day-to-day interests, events, or conversations that may
arise. This is all new to me, so please be
patient and cooperative as we attempt to engage our children
at a deeper level of play.
Important!
► Is anyone available to
pick up one Sudanese family who wants to attend the second
session on a Monday? Car safety seats are available.
